If a company (LU, NT, CPQ, whoever) knows all of the major players in the LAN/WAN networking field (CSCO, ASND, COMS, BAY, CS) and they know all of the potential acquired company's product strengths and weaknesses, and then continue to acquire companies this tells me that they have outlined their intentions. If you know who you are interested in and start acquiring the fringe companies that could enhance a core company acquistion, the only company in my mind that fits into the puzzle with the least overlap is ASND.
