I wasn't commenting on partisan spin. Its pretty clear those have excellent sales potential, as I noted in another post.

But people who want reliable info will turn to those who develop a track record of providing it.

One of the better ways to understand this is to look a political polling and the last election. It got to the point where the politicians took to believing the polls they liked, and the polling organizations were starting to cater to their respective "clients" until Nate Silver came along and taught them all a lesson.
