"And the feds didn't create an asset with the money."

Well they might have spent it on dropping bombs on Iraq, but the plane and the bombs were assets originally created with borrowed money. It could be better spent, tho; like to buy solar panels for every building the USG owns, so that they pay lower utility bills.

"Borrowed money can be used to buy an asset,"

well, there ya go; it was an investment after all.

"the point is the borrowing itself does not create an asset."

If you go back far enuf, somebody prolly borrowed the money to build the house in the first place. Yer just playing word games.
