I know the Valley better than you do; I've been driving up and down it since I was about 4 years old. Those farmers didn't build those water projects. Those farmers didn't build I 5, either. It's like, "keep your hands off of my government water".

This is from 2009, when we were still getting some rain. Calendar year 2013 was SF's lowest total, by 30%, in 164 years of records; got an inch less than desert climate Bakersfield averages.

California is in its third year of drought, and many farmers in the state's crop-rich Central Valley are looking at dusty fields, or worse, are cutting down their orchards before the trees die
