total BS.. The graft maintains it's own characteristics.. (the scion) .. the root stalk also maintains its own characteristics if sprouts comes below the graft point.. They are the same as the root stalk..

Sprouts at the union can have cells from both scion and root stalk.. a graft chimera.. which is like to revert to one of either the rootstock or scion .. NOT a hybrid..

Hybrids (human intervention) / varieties (natural changes) come from the exchange of genetic material which changes CELLS...
