How the ideologues interpret Gates doesn't matter.

How obama and President Bush interpret has a lot more meaning, if you ask me. President Bush will accept the criticism, and probably not comment on it. But if he did, he would likely say, "Some of that criticism is warranted; there is a lot I'd do differently if I had it to do over. But what matters is I did the best I could, always putting the interests of the American people first."

Obama, OTOH, would be pissed. He would whine. And he would deny (already has, actually). And blame President Bush. Or someone else. And tell us what a difficult situation he "inherited". And generally, just run from the problem.

And that tells the story. One is a president. The other is a poser. I think you know who is who.
