Nic, I am with you all the way until you get to the "radical solutions". Some huricanes and malaria doesn't seem that grave to me compared to other world issues such as biological weapons. Creating new infrastructures is VERY expensive. It should follow sensible well thought out paths, not radical ones. The direction is in place..radical is not necessary.

Would you consider moving to a warmer climate such as San Diego to help minimize this catostrophic situation that you describe? I am sure that people who settled in the colder areas of the world did not consider that the fuel they burn to keep warm would contribute to this global problem. In light of the new information it would make sense to relocate populations to moderate climates minimizing the need for heat and air conditioning.
