1/10/14 Contest update
I won!!! Contest over.
Just kidding, of course. I got lucky with Capricor (CAPR), which I didn’t even steal from RKRW. Clearly, the stars were lined up in my portfolio’s favor. And when we transition from Capricorn to Aquarius, I expect Bulba’s Zodiacal reign will end.
Meanwhile, even more amazing than my own portfolio performance and less likely due to luck is the collective performance of the 2014 Contest portfolios. At Friday’s close the Contest median was up 13.58% YTD, handily beating the 5.15% YTD gain by Nasdaq Biotech Index. And the Nasdaq Composite Index was actually down -.05%% YTD.
As noted, my portfolio’s star performer, CAPR, put me in first place with a 31.19% YTD gain. But I barely edged out second place,CLARK’s portfolio, which rode a 20% allocation in RTRX to a 30.54% YTD gain. Holding two hot stocks, CYTK & NBIX, MOPGCW’s portfolio took third place with a 26.63% YTD gain.
At Friday's close, all 46 Contest portfolios were in the black with an incredible 44 of the 46 beating the NBI.
