You have the key word Simplify and make it fair = the cost of living in America - if you don't like it, leave or crawl under a rock. Too much time and effort goes into avoiding taxes. We have so many loopholes and deductions the code is miles thick and we have to tax the hell out of business and real workers to make up for all those paying off congress and whitehouse for their special exemptions. Lets see how much Buffett and Gates love high taxes if they are not allowed to deduct their "gifts" (actually publicity stunts to show they are cool people rather than rich business titans) to charity to avoid paying THEIR FAIR SHARE of taxes. Ideally we'd eliminate all but some percentage of income up to some multiple of the MEAN annual wages that anyone can deduct for anything. I'm not really fond of subsidizing Romney's 10% of salary gift to the Mormon church to pay to have people knock on my door... for example. I am sure you don't like giving me a deduction to support my local theater... like people in Los Altos really need this deduction while veteran benefits are cut. Anyway, I'd love to see the huge tax deductions eliminated . If these causes are good on their own, then they should be able to survive without tax deductions. Long term, I'd like to see a way to make corporate taxes ZERO for manufacturing by allowing them to get credit for jobs in the US.... since we know a high paying job generates much more income from all the economic activity it generates... Maybe let companies get credit for the economic activity the wages their jobs create... but the far left hates big companies and wants to punish success so it will be a tough battle.
