As of July 1996:

QCOM had roughly

$5/share in Cash and Investments

and their Omnitracs business genrated in excess of 42 cents/share that quarter and still growing! @ a conservitive estimate of 10 times earnings, this business segment alone is worth over $20/share.

Omnitracs + Cash/Invest = $25/share MINIMUM! (I can't fathom where Murphy gets his $23/share estimate)

Now add value for :

CDMA Lic & Development Fees
CDMA Infrastructure Equipment/Handsets
Eudora?
Globalstar?
CDMA WLL?

Give me a break! This stock is a steal @ $40 / share.

Ref Q4 earnings:

I listened to a conference call w/ Jacobs recently. While he would not comment on this quarters earnings, he responded to a question about the street estimates of 14 cents per share by saying that the actual estimates he heared were from 10 cents to 15 cents. I think he hinted that the results would be 10 cents. I guess in a few weeks we'll see how accurate this read was.

Also, he strongly hinted that CDMA revenues are on the cusp of surging at QCOM. Again, a few more quarters and all will be known.

Clearly, this investment is not without risks. But once the risks are out of this stock, there will be no more money to be made on it!

Good Luck to all!
