Prepare to Receive God's Vision

God has a unique vision and purpose for each of His children. God wants to bring glory to Himself through our lives. Understanding God’s vision, however, is different from casting our own vision. When we make plans, we want everything laid out. Think about the last time you traveled. When you mapped out the trip, you wanted to know where it started, where it ended, where you would stop along the way, and exactly how long it would take. Many of us approach our life in the same way—we try to plan out all the details in advance; we want to know all the answers before we begin the journey.
 However, God does not reveal His vision for our lives all at once. God reveals His vision to us when He knows we are ready and able to receive it. How then do we prepare ourselves to receive God’s vision?
First, to understand and embrace God’s vision, we must ask Him for it. The Bible tells us we have not because we ask not—and sometimes when we do ask, we ask with selfish rather than God-honoring motives. But God promises us, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). God wishes to reveal Himself to us, but we must first ask with pure motives and persistence.
The word for “call” in this verse means to do so continuously. We are commanded to ask continuously until God reveals His vision to us. Persistence teaches us to rely on God while He is shaping our hearts to delight in Him. God does a wonderful work in us when we seek His will. As we seek Him for His will, we learn who He is and we begin to delight in Him and His will rather than our own. As He becomes the desire of our hearts, we are aligned and ready to receive His will and vision for our lives.
Second, God gives His vision to those who are good stewards. God is looking for stewards who will manage His plans well, even in the face of opposition, frustration, impatience, or even spiritual attack.
As we follow God’s timeline, we may experience anxious moments and frustration while we wait for God’s plan to unfold. Satan will tempt us to bypass God’s timeline and question God’s direction. Yet God entrusts His vision to those He knows will persevere through criticism, seasons of waiting, and spiritual warfare.
Third, God gives His vision to those who are faithful in small things. He will give greater vision to those who are being faithful with what is already in their charge. The Bible teaches us that this is how God rewards His faithful servants. “You have been faithful with a few things: I will put you in charge of many things” (Matthew 25:21, 23).
The good news is that it is never too late to start seeking God’s vision. We are always at the right point in our lives to decide to honor God and to delight in Him. If you have sought God’s vision for your life, but have become discouraged, we pray this new year you will recommit to His life vision and will trust Him as He fulfills it.

Open Doors and Open Hearts
In 2013, God has opened new doors for Leading The Way to continue to share the Truth of Christ. This year, we have had numerous opportunities to expand the work of the Kingdom. Through the addition of the ION network, an increased social media following, the addition of Tagalog to our dual-language library, and a growing devotional presence of over 15,000 YouVersion subscribers, we have been able to reach millions more for the sake of His name. Over the past eight years our support base has grown to 4,000 monthly partners—people without whom all of this would have been impossible.
In May, God moved powerfully through the Leading The Way to Revival in Indonesia event, where nearly a thousand people made decisions to follow Christ; and in the midst of persecution, we were able to aid Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Lebanon as well as persecuted Egyptian Christians through Help The Persecuted. Through these miraculous stories, we are reminded that God is faithful to save the lost, comfort the afflicted, and bring new hope. We do not proclaim His Truth in vain.
As the end of the year approaches, we thank God for His work through Leading The Way and for your support. Daily we receive testimonies of how the Lord is usingLeading The Way programming to change lives around the world. God was faithful to send our deliverance born of a virgin 2,000 years ago, and He is just as faithful today. We would like to share a few of these testimonies with you.
Egypt
Ibrahim prayed with us over the phone to receive Christ. Our team followed up with him. He started sharing the Gospel with others immediately. One of those he shared with is Bassem who had just been diagnosed with Hepatitis C. Ibrahim, with our follow-up volunteers, started praying with him for healing. One night, Bassem felt something in his body, indescribable comfort. Running some lab tests, his doctor told him that the virus has no trace in his body. Bassem praised the Lord and decided to dedicate his life to serving Him. He left everything and joined seminary to become a full-time servant to His Savior.
Middle East
Mahmoud called our channel and asked to meet with our coordinator. He was watching our channel and was convinced that Jesus is the Savior. In the next meeting he brought his wife with him as she was seeing Jesus in her dreams. She also prayed to receive Christ in her life. Mahmoud decided to stop working as a drug dealer and burned all his capital of drugs worth $1,000 to start a new life with Christ. Mahmoud started sharing Jesus with many people and God provided him with the job he needed—in pharmaceuticals!
Finland
Irina wrote us to say, “Pastor Youssef, I’m in a very difficult situation. I have a lot of problems. But thanks to your message my faith is relentless and I believe God will lead me out of troubles. He will show me the way.”
Indonesia
Nyoman asked for several Navigators because he was blessed by Dr. Michael Youssef’s teaching. Because of the way the teachings have grown his faith, he has tried to memorize every lesson and has been sharing with those around him. He has shared his faith with at least 50 people.
China
“Thanks Michael, your bible lesson gives the true Word and makes those difficult lessons easy to learn. We are enlightened, delighted, and strengthened with stronger faith to walk in God’s way. May God use your program to bless more and more Chinese, to strengthen their faith.”
