Does Netflix have live sports

Ah, the live sports brings up an interesting question. All major U.S. sports that I'm aware of have words at the beginning of their broadcasts to the effect that rebroadcast or transmission of their content is illegal without express written consent. In other words, it has to be licensed. The major networks pay big bucks to broadcast live sports (the NFL being a prime example), so I could see where both the NFL and the networks carrying their games would want to sue Aereo.

I didn't say that Aereo is a Netflix killer, just that it represents the biggest threat to date.

Could be. Many said that in the past of Hulu (not commercial-free, even with subscription), Amazon's video offerings and Apple's as well. If the DVR capability of Aereo allows for skipping ads and they can somehow garner the content Netflix has without directly paying for it for only $8/mo., then yes, I could see where they'd be a huge threat.

If they win the lawsuit it certainly opens the doors widely.

I'm not trying to crap on the idea, it's very intriguing, I'm just playing devil's advocate here and trying to get some info. :-)

It's too bad they haven't gone public yet, could be a very good play in the sector.
