This piece from the WSJ is classic political distraction at work:

Middle Class Students at State Universities are being forced to subsidize their poorer breathren (because of state tuition cutbacks) and predictably the political push back begins:

More Students Subsidize Classmates' Tuition

The basic tuition funding problem at state funded colleges and universities, particularly in increasingly red states like Wisconsin, NC, and Texas, is that the state legislature cuts funding. It's a part of the disheartening attempts to cut public funding for education in general. And one more telling way the right wing thinks of politics as us against them.

The WSJ, with Murdoch guiding the ship, signed onto this little voyage some time back. So that even their non editorial work increasingly grows from right wing political agendas. This one is classic. Blame the universities for the problems created by legislators.

Just one more very clear indication about the terrible direction of our politics.
