When I was a kid, Western Auto had M1 carbines in an old wooden barrel thrown in the corner, almost couldn't give them away.

Concerning the Krag, the action isn't that beefy, the bolt handle and small lugs are the only thing holding all of that pressure. 38k max?

Looking at auction prices, I wouldn't shoot the Krag. Then again, I have an old rifle I cast bullets for and add a gas check during sizing, use a little Unique, and blast away cheap.

I guess it depends what Jeff is thinking....
