The NSA has been doing that sort of stuff since WWII. They worked with the NBS to standardize DES during the 1970s. that is why the key is too short and the algorithm adopted has certain. ..

Deficiencies. Now all of the discovered weaknesses are thought to be too difficult to exploit. But that doesn't mean all possible exploits are known.

You can be pretty sure they can crack almost anything out there, albeit it may take some time.

Our corporate overlords are much more likely to work with the NSA than against them in the true spirit of corporatism. Too much risk and not enough reward.
