>>>Thank you, sounds like level II is a must, theres a certain NYSE stock im falling in love with, does level II work the NYSE, S&P and CBOE?<<<

No, it's just Nasdaq that has market makers. The others are specialist markets, which are more like auctions. The Nasdaq is more like a corner store, which buys inventory and marks it up. On the other markets there is just one specialist in each stock. On the Nasdaq there are many market makers that compete with each other to buy and sell the finite supply each day. It is much easier to tell the direction of a stock in that environment, that is why most daytraders stick to Nasdaq stocks. It is also why Nasdaq is more suseptible to "manipulation". QNTM will be interesting tomorrow am. Watch it rise like FIBR did the day after the Barron's story as the market makers flip the panic sells . I'll be doing the same (flipping a panic sell).
