I don't either.

I have a good friend who won the World Food Prize some years ago for his work in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and who subsequently chaired the president's council on the subject of GMOs. Now, he and I haven't sat and discussed the subject or anything, since I obviously wouldn't know shit about it.

But if he says it isn't a danger, I take is word for it. He said it, and I believe him. In particular, he pointed out that genetic modification offers efficiencies that just aren't available with other methods. No one talks about the fact that genetic modification allows the delivery of more food without the use of potentially dangerous chemicals with the end result being lives saved and overall better health -- often in places where it makes one hell of a lot of difference.

As usual, it is the one-sided view that totally bashing the concept, without really understanding the full implications.
