How's your cold spell doing? It's too damn hot here.

Bay Area temperatures soared to historic highs on Tuesday as an unusual spell of warm, dry air hung across the Golden State.

San Jose had reached 74 degrees by 3 p.m., surpassing the previous record for the date of 73 in 2009, while Oakland hit 72, beating the previous record of 70 also set in 2009, according to the National Weather Service. San Francisco topped out at 68 degrees, one degree short of the high for the date.

Pinnacles National Park in San Benito County saw 83 degrees, while Calistoga and Pope Valley in Napa County recorded a high of 80.
