Francis,
I have much in common with you. I have used Worden Brothers, and that was a very frustrating experience. I have used Super Charts, and that was also frustrating. Tell me more about your experience! I get offers for Trade Station, etc. but would like to hear from you.
Technical charting is not an answer for me, but does help in understanding the basic dynamics.
I have studied charting for many years but understand only the very basics. I bought a book many years ago by a fellow named McGhee or Magee, as I remember and made manual charts for some time. It is not an ultimate answer, and on that I speak with some authority. It is a tool to help in understanding the basics and performs very poorly as an investment tool. It may be quite effective in the short term in the hands of a true expert, but I am not one of those.
A very much more effective investment philosophy takes a much broader view. I trust that all understand that such a statement is out of place on a theread such as this.
I would truly appreciate if expert investors would help the new investors in this regard.
I have many things to say about GPGI and I hope that all understand that I say it in the context of a very speculative investment which is sadly, today, larger than I would wish it to be. With that said, I am an old fellow who has withstood the school of hard knocks and should be awarded a PHD in that subject. I wish to not mislead nor to improperly apply my understanding in any way. I truly feel that the area of the DD has, still great potential, even in the present situation. The fiasco at the "new refiner" is truly dissapointing for me, but that has not played it's course yet, in my mind.
Since I have broached the subject, I feel compelled to advise the less advised in this situation. Todays action appears catastrophic, however I do not view it in that way, simply a continuation of a long-standing trend. Perhaps an opportunity, and perhaps a continuation of the trend.
The first and subsequent DD's to successfuly and economically extract values from the DD sands will be richly rewarded. There is great interest from many fronts. It is complex, and subject to many, many failures. There are many companies and refiners who wish to try their hand. It is simply the nature of the subject and a poorly understood factor.
I know not the answer!! GPGI has worked with many, many refiners and have not, to date found the answer that I know of.
My feeling is that it will be done and I know not the time. One must realize how many breaths are bated waiting for the answer and how dynamic the result!!
Holding Silver, waiting to buy Gold, Jack!!
PPS.--I do not know if this helps anyone. For me, being somewhere between Atilla the Hun and Don Qxihote, me will buy on the morrow!!!!
