No different than religious pecking orders, whats interesting in the last century we found literalist Christians having their Monkey Trial moment and that resulting in serious backlash then, and now we are finding things in similar situation. Attacking Science is as stupid as attacking the Arts, Music or Philosophy which in reality are as fundmentally essential to the whole integral human experience as Religion is, so the wheel of miscomprehension goes round & round. One could add sports as a 5th a great pursuit in the life of man, the miscinception is thinking that Religion somehow encompasses & satistfies all the facets of human experience, but there's more to life than the after life, or theorizing about the soul, there's the business of living fully rounded lives.
