Finding that article the usually weak & even odd, more of an intro to the event of Rick's son's suicide for attracting readers, the statistics of the poll were rather surpising & disquieting. One would really assume that evangelical, fundamentalist, or born-again Christians would absolutely believe in the power of prayer as a cure for everything ? So i am only surprised the findings were only 48% and would have assumed they would have reached the high 80's? What is going on with Christianity today, it truely seems completely lost.

Being a Pastor/Writer with book sales of nearly 1Bil one would think there was surely some steps that he could have done to save his sons life, just a very seriously ill, a very unhappy kid, one would have to know more whys & hows.

This interview with Morgan, though we sympathize with these two parents, their responses seem wrapped up in preachy platitude & seeming dependency on the usual gauze wrapped recitations such as this
christianitytoday.com

The Warrens told Morgan their son was not afraid to die and is now in heaven. "Matthew's body was broken. That gun broke his body, and he was buried in brokenness. But he's going to be raised in glory,"

Really, i don't even beging to grasp such an utterance, why is it necessary to state his son was not afraid to die? The rest is abnormally preachy to me, discusses only the aspects of how he hasn't lost his faith & that God has a plan & the church should do more to address such things in a more robust way. Well ofcourse this goes without saying, this is what one assumes Christianity is all about taking care of the sick & ill?

"I have cried every single day since Matthew died," the megachurch pastor said on CNN Tuesday night. "But that's actually a good thing. Grief is a good thing. It's the way we get through the transitions of life."

That grief & grieving is aprocess & a good thing etc, is this the incredibly deep wisdom one gets from all this faith?

What i find disturbing is the emphasis on sweetly saving face, uttering statements of such obvious nature, yet not dicussing his son at all, or what conditions led to his untimely end. There's no specified facts or examples of what was afflicting his son. Or is anyone given the slightest clue to the whys & how, just that God isnt to blame, but what about the son? Theres no information here for anyone gleen anything from, i find little transparency or specifics shared here, which to me is disturbing, theres nothing to learn that one could identitfy with.

To say that hes gone to heaven, everythings FINE , just always find this such a cop out, the son was begging them to help him with the pain, what did they do? There's no information here, so just moving on....
