LOL! Sure... either you have a monitoring problem, or when you attempt to provide monitoring of the "absolutely unmoderated" thread you lack reading comprehension skills.

Let me see if I can help. When monitoring a thread and trying to control the posters, it's generally a good idea to read the thread in the order it was posted when criticizing someone discussing an off topic subject. In that way, you're more likely to accurately address the offender who began the discussion.

As an improvement suggestion to SI management and in keeping with the spirit of the thread. I suggest they provide a simple "Thread Monitoring Tutorial" YouTube training product, and encourage thread monitors to watch the training videos prior to starting a thread. In that way, simple mistakes in courtesy like the one you made would be less likely to occur.

They could even give out a Certificate for the monitor who took all 4 of the training tutorials.

1. Understanding SI TOU abuse.
2. How to ensure balanced enforcement of the thread rules.
3. Respecting participants by addressing the right person when controlling off topic posts (This would be the one you need).
4. Turning over thread monitoring responsibilities.
