How about modifying the ban feature and making it more like a jail feature? Instead of meting out a lifetime ban for an infraction of the rules, the moderator could impose a 7, 14 or 28 day ban that would be tracked by software code and end automatically. In my own humble opinion, an out and out ban is not always justified and could be reserved for 3 infraction within a certain period of time.

Is it even possible to do this, given the programming limitations?
