How about modifying the ban feature and making it more like a jail feature?

I think you would find that some moderators would simply renew the longest ban possible every time they were able...myself included. There are just some people that I don't want to EVER hear from on any thread I moderate.

Unless the mod places the banned person on ignore, the person who was banned can always ask to be reinstated via PM.

I vote for keeping it as is.
