they have piled away a huge chunk of deferred
revenue to smooth over any rough spots

That sounds like what MSFT likes to do.

Every time I tuned in to CNBC today they would broadcast
something about their exposure to Asia. My guess is that they
did this twice an hour.

When I looked at the PR news wire it said
After Oracle Corp's (Nasdaq:ORCL - news) pounding on Tuesday, due to disappointing earnings,
investors are expected to take a close look at Microsoft Corp (Nasdaq:MSFT - news), which said
it was feeling the impact of a sharp slowdown in computer sales in Japan but that its earnings outlook
was unchanged.

It seems to contradict itself but if it is true the news media
would not comment on the positive side. If that above is true MSFT will do the about face and continue right back up for the short term.

An interesting article about slow growth in 98 but a rebound in
99 seems to be reasonable.

Would like to hear arguements concerning Asia and why it will/not
affect them.

Thanx Mark
