In fact, there are Utah legislators pushing the concept, at least four from my state were present at the initial organizing meeting a few weeks ago, and there are only a few blue states needed. Before this is over, the blue states will have the chance to participate or not, or to have to say at all in what happens. I suspect most will decide they want to be involved. The biggest problem right now is fighting ignorance which is manifested as fear over a "runaway" convention, which is unwarranted fear. As to Houston's mayor, last I heard Houston proper was fairly liberal. I don't believe that is a radical change.
