Perhaps -- I suspect the real number is between the two.

But that doesn't explain the worst news that came at the same time -- that workforce participation hit a 35 year low. There is really not a way to twist that into anything but horrible news.

What that tells you is that its not smart to elect an R to office. Rs let us into the Great Depression and Rs led us into the Great Recession.
