BTW, extract from a Yahoo, Biz news report:

"According to company officials, Taiwanese chipmakers in this most recent order round included both foundry and dynamic
random access memory (DRAM) device manufacturers that are currently producing leading-edge devices with 0.35-micron
design rules before moving to 0.25 micron. GaSonics reports that customers cited the PEP 3510A's advanced technology,
system productivity, cost of ownership (COO) and support benefits as being key criteria in selecting GaSonics' equipment over
the competition.

If the Taiwanese chipmakers are just getting ready to plan for a move to .25 micron, and LSI is moving directly to .18 micron, given the evidence, then what more do I need to know --- other than the fact that the entire sector is dropping into the crapper, to hear the pessimists tell it? :-) TSO
