Hi Wharf Rat; Re: "China will continue to step up its efforts to address climate change in a bid to achieve the target of reducing CO2 emissions per unit of GDP by 40 to 45 percent by 2020 from the 2005 levels," reiterated Xie Zhenhua, head of the Chinese delegation and vice chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) during the high-level segment of the Warsaw Climate Change Conference on Nov. 20.";

It's hilarious that you can be so ignorant of numbers that you can quote this as support for the concept that the world is reducing CO2 emissions.

China's GDP is growing recently at something like 7.7% per year. A little math will tell you that by 2020 their GDP will grow to be about 2.62 x as large as it is now. Multiplying 2.62 by 55 to 50% you get the result that their CO2 emissions will be higher by 31 to 44%.

So the article you're quoting to me says that China's CO2 production will increase by something around 2.1 to 2.8% per year. That's somewhat faster than the rest of the world's CO2 is increasing, moron.

And that's not what China is delivering.

That's just what they're talking about, LOL.

Forget it, you lost it. You were unable to convince the world that CO2 was an important issue and now world production of CO2 continues to grow. (Or to accelerate, depending on what you use as the baseline growth rate.) There's not a hint that CO2 production will decrease in your lifetime. The only evidence you have for it is the hope that fossil fuels will run out but guess what, they keep finding more of the stuff.

Face it. Your kids are going to grow up in a horrible world of mass starvation, constant storms, brutal heat waves, unbelievable blizzards all because you didn't make any sense on Silicon Investor! You really should blame yourself for the world's failure to listen to the climate scientists and their talk of the falling sky.
