Whether there is more stored as wisdom, it does seem to me that older brains are less open to new ways of thinking or different approaches. Obviously, this isn't a uniform appraisal for all aging minds, but as my relatives age I notice a decline in what I'd call an ability to "think" fluidly and innovatively. Some might call this "can't teach an old dog new tricks." I'm not sure if it's inability or simply unwillingness/reluctance to be open to adapting to new things or new ways of thinking about things.
