John,
I completely read the SMTC thread before I bought any shares, including your first post (#13) as well as Todd's (#12). I remember in August you took a week off to work on a house, just as my recent (and your mature) purchase was going through the roof. You had seen this in the WSJ, and I welcomed you back here by offering to pay the cost so you could take another week off, as long as you provided a guarantee it would happen again. As I said, you have timed SMTC as well as anyone else has.
>>Then sold some at 64ish-had nothing to do with technicals or fundamentals<<
This is what I was trying to determine, what was the decision to sell at this point based on? The prospects of an 800% return would probably make me jump too; I was just trying to make sure I did not miss something worth noting at that point
I have the same intent to hold SMTC, but what I may also really be asking is what would you define as "something materially changes"? If I can determine what prompted you to sell at $64, but now has you planning to hold, I will have learned something very important. Then again, I can almost hear you already say "I read it in Motley Fool" :o)
Regards, JB
P.S. I wonder where Todd is, and what his thoughts are on today's reaction to the announcement? |
