Sex workers of Montreal’s WWII era Red Light District, a collection of mugshots, might as well post this since it's in my browser. They did a special on the red light district in Hawaii the Navy brass turned a blind eye & even encouraged druring WWII. Think of a young virgin kid from Iowa could at least have one last chance (maybe his last) for a tender experience with "love" before he got shipped off to the Pacific & get blown up on a beach. These women were doing the Navy a service, in another way actually doing God's work too, whos going to be the judge?

They did interviews later with the Madam, many of the girls & men who lived to return. What was very human was these young men at the time similarly mentioned when over in the War zones that just the memory of love, having 'some gal" back awaiting them, was all they were thinking of. It was that memory of that intimacy & human touch back waiting for them, on a real level meant more than fighting for God & Country.

If there’s any emotional theme to these headshots, it’s how unimpressed all the women seem to be with the authority that’s arresting them.
