It is simply a fact that Michael Mann took a bunch of data, shoved it in the the maw of his GIGO data manipulator, masticator, mauler, twister, molester and torturer, getting out an envelope of extrapolated made up muck which bore no relationship to what reality subsequently did.
Maybe Weisberg is totally ignorant about science, but GIGO computers are not science and their output is not science. In the case of CO2, it is totally a political method of gaining opm by the giga$buck and establishing socialist rules across the planet. Michael Mann is a politician and has been politically active in promoting politicians who go along with his ideology.
It's totally absurd that Mark Steyn can be expected to appear before an ignorant judge to defend his comments about Michael Mann's data mangling process in the service of politicized science. Reality proved Michael Mann's "models" were simple garbage. No amount of persiflage can change reality. Reality can't be prosecuted for disagreeing with Mann's mangulation of data.
Frederick Weisberg should state for the record whether he is a believer in anthropogenic CO2 causing global warming and an Obama fan club member. If so, he should declare himself biased and stand aside.
Weisberg should have taken a look at what Mark Steyn wrote, compared it with reality as demonstrated by reality, and what Michael Mann did with the data and thrown the case out as totally absurd. Especially since Michael Mann passed himself off as a Nobel Prize winner in his lawsuit, and that the original defamation claim was that defaming a Nobel Prize winner was the issue. It's laughable.
There is not even a need to get into the whole concealment and "hide the decline" fraudulence which has been well-established in the emails exposed. The unexposed emails and comments would be even more interesting. Jones, Mann and co were obviously out for politicized "science", not Einstein/Popper/Feynman actual science.
This is nothing more than a Flat Earth trial. The official liturgy and catechism of the CO2 priesthood is that the Earth is flat. A Mercator projection suggests it's flat, but that's a manipulation, molestation and torturing of the actual 3D data which clearly shows the Earth is round, as does circumnavigation and any number of other physically determinable attributes. The CO2 believers are 2D thinkers. They need to get into 3D thinking, out beyond the box, out of the checklist, away from the slogan, escape from the event horizon of their gravitationally bound perceptions.
Mark Steyn correctly pointed out the molestation, manipulation, mangulation and torturing of data to give a Mercator projection out the back end of the GIGO data manipulation device. To drag him before a heresy trial is back to the medieval darkness.
This is how the communist totalitarian dictatorships dealt with dissidents and refuseniks.
Confirming the heresy trial nature of the situation, lawyers and others warn Mark Steyn that he must do forelock tugging, bowing and scraping and genuflection to his lords and masters making up the judiciary who otherwise will punish him for being an uppity n-word by finding him guilty irrespective of law and facts.
Judge; "You are showing contempt of court". Supplicant; "I'm sorry your great, honourable, worshipful lordship, I was doing my best to hide it."
The suggestion that judges are such self-dealing crooks is far more showing contempt of them than Mark Steyn's comments. The reason judges' decisions are often reversed is because they are as far from papal infallibility as most other human thinking.
