Um, Bilow, that doesn't prove I am a liar. It does prove that rising levels of CO2 was widely believed to be causing at least the oceans to warm and rise. Thanks for helping out.

But you are correct. I should have qualified it a bit more.

By the mid-1970s, it was generally believed that the approximate 15 cm rise in sea level since the turn of that century was due to thermal expansion of the oceans. The cause was believed because of rising CO2 levels, but they didn't have proof.

I don't see how that improves your position much. But...
