2State of the Union Harry Binswanger I missed most of Obama's speech, but I heard the Republican evasion . . . uh, rebuttal of it. It was probably the worst of these rebuttals. It was given by a woman who spoke with exactly the same inflection as Sue Ann Nivens, “The Happy Homemaker” character on the Mary Tyler Moore Show.
It had no content, just smiles and personal stories and cheery optimism. Plus a soupcon of religion. It looks like the Republican Party is sunk.
