Finally listened to the McWhirter piece. He says 1.30 is the first stop but it is going much higher. I agree. He also talked about the recent announcement regarding the ash vitrification facility that was just commissioned in Shanghai. The significance of that release is this is a new market for the company that enables them to provide a solution for the existing incinerator market. The WTE facility they are building with Air Products in the UK is a $400MM project (each...they are building two). Of that, Alter gets about $23MM or so. The plasma torch ash vitrification solution is about $20MM. So the net to Alter for selling an incinerator add-on is about the same as selling the gasifier for a new WTE facility. There are thousands of existing incinerators that are already permitted and operating. The plasma torches supercharge the incinerator and enable it to run cleaner. The incinerator ash is turned into an inert glass that can be used for road construction. From what I hear, the plant is a big hit in Shanghai. I've heard that government officials are encouraging other incinerator operators to go take a look.
