James & John:

I'd like to reiterate John's view on SEPR. This one stock is about 1/3 of my portfolio, with another 1/3 distributed among numerous biotechs. I generally try to avoid stocks with substantial Phase III risk - I don't like trying to read the tea leaves from Phase II's. Hence SEPR, DEPO. My one exception is PCYC - here I feel that their early results were unambigous enough that I "know" their stuff works, and it's just a question of waiting for the later trials and FDA to come to the same conclusion.

All the biotechs seem weak now, as does the whole market. I've been about 2/3 hedged for a while now, so my overweight in biotechs isn't as risky as it looks. My non-biotech selection is heavily weighted to CTXS, mostly because it went from 13 to 78 and I don't want to pay taxes <G>. I probably wouldn't be a buyer at these levels.

Tip of the day: When the thread starts talking about market makers, head for the hills.

Peter
