I don't know if you are a doctor or not. But you clearly don't know shit about finance or the operation of ERs.

And there is one question that puts it in perspective: Why don't they close them? Why don't the open far less expensive 24/7 walk in clinics to handle all of these people who "cost" so much at the ER?

The reality is the ER is the way modern medicine handles doctors' office hours. And that means between 5pm and 8am, and all weekend long, it is the only source of health care in most localities in the country.

There is a lot more to this but I don't really feel like wasting time on it with someone who is totally clueless as you are.
