Because, Dave, if the hospital takes ANY money from the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Medicare program - they are required BY LAW to have an emergency room and emergency services. en.wikipedia.org Now, why would a person as KNOWLEDGEABLE as yourself be unaware of this? LOL!
