IMHO:

1) The installation is much easier and will be like the analog modems we use now once Microsoft builds the interface component into the OS. To install a cable modem, the cable company has to send a team to the site and spend an average of 2 hours on the site.

2) The price will be cheaper and the speed will be at least same or higher. For a cable modem, you pay a monthly fee on top of the monthly cable fee.
