"the current addressible market has nearly flatlined outside of carrier launches"

Remember that Apple is not just a device company but has a very substantial income from iTunes and related sales of music, video, and books. If Apple addresses only a portion of the total cell phone or tablet market, that in itself doesn't mean that growth levels off. It's an ecosystem that keeps expanding as more people get used to buying music, video, and books through Apple.

I mention this because many of the analyst comments I've been reading lately on Apple look mostly at market share for cell phones and tablets, rather than the whole ecosystem. In this respect, the analysts are underestimating the value of AAPL shares. Carl Icahn probably understands this very well.
