NOTABLE REPORTERS: LinkedIn (LNKD) shares fell 7.3% after the professional social network reported slightly better than expected results but gave first quarter and fiscal 2014 revenue guidance that disappointed...

Online travel agency Expedia (EXPE) gained 13% after reporting earnings and revenue that beat estimates, with bookings that rose 19% domestically and 24% internationally... News Corp. (NWSA) gained 3.7% after The Wall Street Journal publisher reported bottom line results that beat estimates on revenues that were in-line with expectations.

UP AFTER EARNINGS: Outerwall (OUTR), up 10%, with the Redbox operator also announcing a $500M share repurchase plan and management changes within its Redbox, Coinstar and ecoATM businesses... Activision Blizzard (ATVI), up 8%... Ubiquiti Networks (UBNT), up 7.5%.

ALSO HIGHER: ARIAD Pharmaceuticals (ARIA), up 6.4% after a Reuters report said Sarissa Capital, run by Carl Icahn's former healthcare head, is seeking at least two seats on the company's board... GT Advanced (GTAT), up 5% after a report by 9to5Mac said the company is preparing to manufacture sapphire displays for Apple (AAPL).


DOWN AFTER EARNINGS: OpenTable (OPEN), down 7.8%... NCR Corp. (NCR), down 7.8%... Fairway Group (FWM), down 12.5% after a disappointing quarterly report and announcing that its CEO will retire.

ALSO LOWER: Shire (SHPG), down 4.7% after reporting that results from two Phase 3 trials of its Vyvanse Capsules as a treatment for major depressive disorder did not meet their primary efficacy endpoints versus placebo. :
