| Just a small question or two from an impartial observer ...
Where was the "racism" from three previous Republican Presidents, viz. Ronald Reagan, George Bush (snr.) and George W.Bush (jnr.) when each of them had Colin Powell, an African American AND a REPUBLICAN by the way, in several of the Most Senior positions in their Armed Forces and in their Cabinet ?

If my memory serves me correctly, Colin Powell occupied the position of :-

 1) National Security Advisor to Republican President, Ronald Reagan

 2) Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Republican President George H.W.Bush (snr.)

 3) Secretary of State under Republican President George W.Bush (jnr.)

And, I guess, one may also want to bear in mind (or not bear in mind, depending on your mood of the moment) that it was a Republican President, the one and only Abraham Lincoln (probably the greatest American President of all) who brought about the emancipation of the ancestor's of today's African Americans.

The way I see it "hatred", and possibly the "hateful actions" referred to, in politics and elsewhere, are not necessarily confined to those regarded as right of centre.
It can certainly manifest itself, in various forms and under various guises, over to the left of that centre as well.

Reminds me of that timeless expression that was uttered over 2000 years ago ...

"Let he who is without ( ) cast the first stone"

I'll leave it to the reader(s) to fill in the blank ......
