Are you saying civil disobedience is a part of democracy? Well then, what is to become of us when those with guns - mostly the right start their civil disobedience? .........The point I'm trying to make here Koan is that it is a two way street - you don't get to win or get special privileges because you are in the right. The winner is only those that manage to get the most votes. They win! And if they have the money to persuade the gullible to vote for them they win more. There is no altruism - in a democracy - and so perhaps it will fail. We vote for that person that gives us the most - be it food stamps or ethanol subsidies. Nobody votes for the environment. Which in the long term, of course, is maybe our most important vote.
