Biotechs suffered a winter chill most of the week but warmed up considerably on Friday. And although the Contest median did drop a bit for the week, ending up 15.29% YTD (vs. up 16.10% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index actually closed with a tiny gain for the week and is now up 8.57% YTD (vs. up 8.41% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index also recovered from its early week losses but is still down -1.21% YTD (vs. down -1.74% YTD a week ago).
The Innate 20% took the top two Contest spots, with GUERL’s portfolio, up 42.69% YTD, our new leader and JB118’s portfolio, up 41.33% YTD, in second place. Despite not being innately endowed, BIOINV’s portfolio, up 41.03% YTD, is behind by a smidge in third place.
At Friday's close, all 46 Contest portfolios remained in the black and 36 of the 46 are beating the NBI.
