Dear Silicon Investor Moderators,

Please do not use the "Reason for Ban" field when barring a member from a board you moderate as a medium to insult or attack the Member being banned. Moderators may create their own rules for thread participation and SI generally will not second guess a Moderator's reasons for banning Members acting in violation of their stated board rules or general decorum. But the behavior resulting in a ban from a board, provided in the "Reason for Ban" field, should be described objectively and free from personal insult.

Again, while we won't second guess your reason in banning a Member, the use of insulting language in the "Reason for Ban" field may be considered a basis for us to lift the ban, for no reason other than to remove what could reasonably be considered to be a standing personal insult.

Yes, moderators are held to higher standards.
