I don't know what impact the building of Activator has but I think it speaks volumns about ActiveX/COM and using this technology to build extensible apps. I believe Sun sells ActiveX with this because it shows that some of the design decisions by Microsoft in making Internet Explorer a group of COM objects wired together gives the end user and developers some great functionality. Sure some security concernes but for corporate networks/intranets ActiveX/COM makes sense.

I think this is awsome just consider you want the latest Java but like the current browser you are using with Internet Explorer you can just upgrade the VM control but you cannot do this with Navigator/Communicator. I like it!
