I just had a conversation with one of my daughters. She considers her self a top notch photographer. She was was wondering what to say about pictures she saw on a blog which in some cases she determined were amateurish. The blog host had invited her to look at his work. My advice is that there are 3 levels of feedback you can give in polite society where you want to have a friendly relationship. Level 1: Point out only the things you feel were done well. Level 2: Offer suggestions on ways to improve something (only when invited to do so) Level 3: Point out the flaws (Again, only when invited to do so) SI does not apply in most cases.
