For a warehouse - it's exhaust fumes and not carrying a tank of liquid fuel around.

For commercial trucks cng/lpg is quite popular and growing.

I really think the electric car/truck is doomed to niche applications until they can figure out fast charging technologies - like under 15 minutes.

Hybrid fuel cars are the only practical (electric) choice today - but with gas prices dropping - the economics of that choice dim significantly.

In 2008 my friend bought a Prius and I bought a Honda Fit - assuming we both have 120K miles and I get 30 mpg and he gets 50.

Me: 120,000/30 = 4000 gals
Him: 120,000/50 = 2400 gals

I bought 1600 more gallons of gas than he has since 2008 - at a generous $4/gal - that's $6,400 I've spent more than he has. But his car cost him $30K in 2008 and I spent $17k - so he has still outspent me by about $7K - so it'll take another 120,000 miles/6 years to reach break even.

PS: I own a GMC Z71 K1500, not a ford. :-)
