LRAD Corporation Receives $577,500 Follow-On Order from the Middle East

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 13, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LRAD Corporation (NASDAQ: LRAD), the world's leading provider of long range acoustic hailing devices (AHDs), today announced the receipt of a follow-on order for LRAD(R) 500X systems and accessories totaling $577,500 for a customer in the Middle East. These units will be mounted on vehicles and used for military and police applications. The order is scheduled to ship by June 30, 2014.

"Military and police organizations around the world are using Long Range Acoustic Devices(R) to provide a layered defense strategy for land forces to fill the gap between initial engagement and employing lethal force. It allows personnel time and distance to distinguish between security threats and innocent civilians," noted Tom Brown, President and CEO of LRAD Corporation. "The extended frequency range of the LRAD 500X ensures voice commands in any language are clearly heard and understood over distances up to 2 kilometers, even inside targeted vehicles with engines running.
